Unethical law practice. Offers to review your case, but this is a “good ‘ol boys club”. They disclosed our inquiry to the opposing party! We got a threatening, vulgar text message from this party! Now we are fearful of his retaliation!!

Have called the office regarding having wills updated on Feb 28 girl said she would pass the message on and should hear back in a couple of days. Gave them a week and called back to say had not heard from anyone she said she would pass the message on and still have not heard from anyone. Also submitted request on line via their website and no response. Would not recommend them they obviously have no desire follow up on phone messages or their website.

We dealt with Chad for my parents will and the sale of a portion of farm land. Chad did his job and completed the transactions. However, when it came time to receive our funds we patiently waited over a month. Called Chad asking where the check was. He said he would check into it. After another couple of weeks we called again to find out they (the front office) neglected to go to the post office to sign for our check and we then had to wait another week for it to clear the bank to get the check. It’s almost two months now waiting for a large amount of money. Chad then had the nerve to send my dad a $50 bill for calling the other lawyer asking where the check was. I informed the front office we wouldn’t be paying that particular bill for obvious reasons. Six months later Chad personally calls me and my father asking for the bill to be paid or he’ll send it to collections. He was downright rude and sarcastic in his communication with us. We won’t be using this firm again.

I retained the services of the Smith Firm for a PFA filed against me after an old ex spouse resurfaced with some old allegations which spanned over a decade and multiple countries. Initially the evidence that she presented was significant but Mr. Gay from the Smith Firm was very quick to spot all of the inconsistencies and lies which showed her true motive. After multiple attempts to have the PFA dropped prior to the hearing we knew we were facing a tough fight since my ex only had to show preponderance of evidence for her PFA. My ex had counsel representing her and the judge was showing clear bias against us. However each step of the way Mr. Gay was able to argue case law and rule of evidence to prevent my ex from submitting very narrow portions of our conversations which made me look bad. Within the first 30 minutes he used several tactics to derail my accuser and her lawyer which ultimately led to them agreeing to drop the PFA. This all happened before Mr. Gay was able to present his argument. The fact that he was able to get my ex to drop the PFA before he even had his turn to argue is testament to his ability to control the case and obtain a favorable outcome. He has always been very transparent with me and provided me realistic outcomes but never gave up or conceded. Communication with him and The Smith Firm has been excellent and I felt that he was adequately prepared to defend me. He has 5 years experience as a prosecutor and now as a defense attorney he is well prepared to defend you. I highly recommend The Smith Firm for a consultation at the least.

I’m assuming this firm is solely profit based. I attempted to get a legal view on an idea I have to help with the homeless crisis in Seaford, DE. The first person I spoke with seemed receptive and took notes. It seemed promising that a lawyer would call me back, but they had someone call me back and tell me plain and simple that they were not gonna help me and hung up. I think there is a sense of community and responsibility a law firm should have in the town they serve; I didn’t get that from them.
