Pretty cool little visitor center located at the Harvey house the actual museum is on the military base and you have to contact them before going. The staff was really friendly and had some cool modes and displays I recommend checking it out since it’s in the Harvey house and they have the Route 66 museum there also.

Neat little museum tucked away on the top floor. Has a vast information with satellites in orbit. Also information on planets. A nice little visit that is worth it when you’re in Barstow.

I went there yesterday after an hour's drive. Website says it is open Saturday 10-4. They were closed. Receptionist said they are not normally there Saturdays. So I was disappointed and a little peeved. Foreign tourists were visiting the Harvey House and I was disappointed for them too. It would have been fun to see. Maybe if I called the Visitor Center number even then, someone would have come out to show us around. How about a friendly sign directing people to the south side of the museum. The front of the Harvey House is all closed off. They could at least spruce things up a bit.

Unusually high brow display for this otherwise nondescript town. It’s in the only building of significance as well, so see it while you’re there. Can’t visit the actual radio telescopes in the area, so this is all there is.

Interesting little place. I recommend for kids a little older. Theres some interactive things but mostly photos and reading. Bright. Beautiful photos and interesting. I learned that if the sun is as big as a door, Saturn is the size of a basketball. Thats trivia for you. Tucked between the rail museum and the Route 66 museum.

My family loved it. There's so many fun,informative activities for all ages. Its free/donations. They have short films and give free stuff. eg:stickers,posters,pictures, abd offer free photo opportunities
