Hours say 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. myself and another employee are sitting here 36 minutes after opening time. Still nobody here. No holiday. Fantastic place.

I would avoid this place. They handed me two forms to sign with the hiring paperwork. One was to agree to pay for my own background check and the other was an agreement to pay them $50 if I left without a two week notice.

Hometown Employment makes far more than I in any given year. Your business is placing people. Background checks are part of YOUR costs. Making a job seeker pay for a background check is predatory.

The $50 for leaving without a two weeks notice is borderline illegal. Federal law and At Will employment being what they are. Hourly employees are generally exempt from any punitive costs because they arent salaried workers with a contract .This is a policy that will end in litigation for Hometown Employment.

They place you at the worst places and then charge you $50.00 when you don't want to be at the site any longer. Contract says if you don't give 2 week notice but it's actually anyplace they send you. If you work all day and hate the placement and ask them for a different location they charge you fifty dollars. That's a money making scheme. They place you where 1 out of 10 stay means they make $450.00 just on 9 of us not wanting to retuen.
