I had a great experience staying here! The location was perfect—close to everything, making it easy to explore the area without any hassle. The room, especially the ones with the bay window, was exceptionally clean, spacious, and had a welcoming atmosphere. It was a pleasure to relax and enjoy the view.

What truly stood out was the staff, particularly the front desk lady and another gentlemen. They were incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming, making check-in and my entire stay smooth and enjoyable.

One of the best hotel experiences ever!! We came to Catalina during a rainstorm and we were quickly able to find the hotel from the dock. Staff were extraordinary nice and compassionate, and were really helpful with any questions. (+ the coffee was wonderful, and another batch was made immediately when it ran out) We got to our room and it was very warm and extremely clean, beds were very comfortable and we had a great view from our window. Again, staff went above and beyond and were very dependable and friendly!! Also, close to everything!

Older hotel that is family owned and as charming as they come. We had a wonderful stay and were upgraded to a room with a view during offseason. Comfortable beds and clean baths. Perfect place if you aren’t fussy and love to embrace the local vibes. Denise is super helpful at the main desk! Will be back.

I got a killer deal online. The hotel is super old so I'm not going to judge it based on anything about the building. I love old buildings. It was clean and well maintained with great customer service. Just some little things like the handles missing off the drawers and the seat in the room was dirty and torn. Also we couldn't access the freezer because of how they put it into the room. The refrigerator door opened one direction but the freezer open another so we couldn't open it. But overall it was a great experience.

We had such a great experience staying here. It is close to everything! The rooms were clean and comfortable. They allowed us an early check in and gave wonderful recommendations for places to eat. We have stayed at several other properties on Catalina and for the price this was the best!

This is a quaint hotel located in downtown Avalon. It is the second oldest hotel in California and boasts of a rich history and some well-known residents over the years. We liked this hotel a lot! First, its location is very convenient - walking distance to pretty much everything in town. Second, the gentleman manning the desk was very sweet and friendly. Third, the hotel still maintains some of the old victorian architecture even though it is renovated - the lack of elevators, stacked staircase, uneven floors....our room was very comfortable. The bed was soft and we slept well. The heating was excellent and we had 3 windows for light in addition to the electrical fixtures. The bathroom was pretty big. Water was decently hot. The only issue is the lack of amenities as such. Their brochure mentions complimentary breakfast, but there is no breakfast. There is no swimming pool or spa or anything, but having said that, you are on an island with these things available at walking distance. All in all, this was a great stay and I will stay here again when I visit next time.
