I just scrolled back on my phone. I met Derrick Inglut on Thursday, September 14, 2023, so that’s 1 year, 5 months and 9 days ago or 17 months and 9 days to give you the right numbers. If you’re like me, you will do whatever it takes to succeed but you won’t tolerate not making progress. For me personally, it took getting past thinking that I wasn’t getting what I thought I deserved to when I started to focus on what I was willing to earn. I watched countless online fitness videos and when I finally got disgusted, I found Derrick. Disgust is a negative emotion, but it can have a very positive, powerful effect – if you can get there you need Derrick. He knows personalized strategies, they exist, meal advice, perfecting posture, confidence – perfect balance of support and challenge. I unquestionably vouch for the results you will get from this very special person. If you’ve had it, call Derrick – you will like him - and what an important day that was for me.

Working with Derrick has been awesome. He is very thorough and starts off with a consultation to understand your goals, dietary restrictions, and lifestyle/fitness habits and experience. He then tailors a diet and exercise plan based on your current measurements and distance from your goals, with weekly weigh-ins and body fat measurements to help keep you accountable. So far I've been able to improve my strength and conditioning as well as make measurable progress across several categories - including muscle mass!

Derrick is one of the best trainers I have ever worked with. His approach to diet and training outside sessions is very clear and results focused. In the gym he is always helping me innovate and push my boundaries. Ive been training with him once a week for two months and already see major differences in my body. More importantly I feel overall much better.

Derrick was the first personal trainer I’ve worked with and he ruined all other personal training for me. There is simply no one like him with his level of professionalism and savvy. Working with Derrick will get you results guaranteed and within a short span of time (3 months) you’ll see visible changes from toning up. I was able to lose weight for the first time in my life by working with him. I have gone back to him two more times and each time lost 10 lbs or more. His exercises are compound and highly effective. He instilled good diet habits for life such as tracking regularly, getting 30% of my calories from
Protein, etc. 100% recommend Derrick!

Working with Derrick has been incredible. I hadnt been consistently active in the gym for over 5 years prior to starting training with him. In about 6 months, I have made great progress towards my goals and feel better all around! Derrick is very professional and brings great personality and motivation to each session. The workouts are creative and tailored to me- never feels repetitive and some stuff can be done at home also. He will create a custom diet plan with you also. I am very happy I decided to send Derrick an inquiry to get started! Highly recommend!

Derrick is clearly an expert at what he does and in the two months I’ve worked with him I’ve seen incredible results. I have worked with a personal trainer before, but Derrick provides a very clear framework and structure to follow. This framework has allowed me to build habits of exercise and diet.

Another thing I appreciate about Derrick is that he meets you where you are and will often remind me if I’m pushing myself too hard. For example, I used to push past my nausea during exercise, but Derrick has taught me to listen to my body and be more intuitive and take more breaks during recovery if needed. I used to not know what my boundaries were in a group fitness class and now I have a much better understanding of what my body is telling me.

Overall, Derrick is extremely encouraging and effective, and I would recommend him to anyone who is committed to making a lifestyle change and just needs an extra push!

I've been training with Derrick nonstop for the last two years and I can say this has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. He's completely transformed how I think about food and fitness with a very easy-to-follow diet. He uses an app to track your meals that actually imposes very little burden on your day-to-day, it takes just a couple seconds when you're eating to add the food to the tracker. He also taught me a very important lesson that you can still enjoy all your favorite foods, you just have to learn the nutrition in those foods and how to plan for when you can enjoy them (aka moderation). The important distinction that Derrick teaches is that you can calculate moderation, you just have to stick to the formula.

The workouts are very fun - we get a lot done and have a great time. I've been training twice/week for 1 hour each session. It's truly incredible how much noticeably stronger and fitter I am from sticking to the workouts. I went from barely being able to do a couple lunges two years ago to fun and difficult exercises like flipping my legs up over my head while just hanging from my arms. I've lost almost 100lbs and my blood pressure has plummeted. Derrick keeps telling me that I've become too strong and I don't need to train as often, but I'm having trouble cutting back because I love it so much. Which is totally crazy, the me from two years ago could barely get off the couch and now I get anxious if I've been sitting around too long. Derrick's the best trainer in DC and he's totally changed my life.

Derrick is a great trainer. He worked with me to establish a set of goals on both exercise and diet and would check-in regularly on my progress. His training is creative and extremely efficient. I have no hesitation in recommending him if you are looking to increase the effectiveness of your workouts. Derrick does not own the training center and, unfortunately, it does not feel like the standard of facility one would expect for the cost or the quality of coaching. But that is out of his control. He makes the most of the space. Thanks, Derrick, for getting me on track!
