I would give zero stars if I could, but that wasn't an option. I went to the Homewood location today to try and fix my card, which has been a problem for months now. Every time I slide it, it just doesn't work. This issue started a few months ago, and it’s been a hassle ever since.

When I spoke with Steven, he was incredibly rude. He blamed Mark for doing something that messed up my card, which is absurd. My mom and I have been on the same account for over five years without any issues until Steven showed up. His customer service is atrocious. He treats gym members like they're children and has no clue how to communicate respectfully. I even witnessed him being disrespectful to a female member, using an aggressive tone that was completely out of line.

I asked him to help fix my card, but he outright refused. He told me that if I ever wanted to come back, I could only enter with my mom. Sure, I'm on her account, but I've always had my own card—we split the payments! Then he said I would have to rejoin and pay $150 upfront, which makes no sense since I’ve been a member for years.

Honestly, we're canceling our membership and heading to Planet Fitness, where they don’t have ridiculous annual fees. I plan to reach out to corporate about this nonsense. We haven’t been notified of any changes, and it seems like Steven is completely clueless. He’s rude to everyone, and if you don’t start hiring better employees, your gym is going to be empty.

This is scam gym. They will say that they are going to give you a discount and will ask you to join 6 month and 12 month membership. They will say they are going to cancel your membership but they don't. Then you are stuck with it and keep charging your card and ultimately you get call from attorney office to pay debt and all. I have moved from Birmingham 1.5 years go and have to pay hundreds of dollar in membership last week otherwise they were going to put this on my credit report.

Hi, I’d like to suggest anyone who’s thinking of signing up, to please reconsider! Gyms like planet fitness are way better options. I am thoroughly disappointed in their poor customer service. You would think an actual facility would have the ability to be decent at communicating, but this location is everything but decent! I signed up for a yearly membership and paid full in three month payments, and was told I could cancel at anytime. I recently called the manager who was in charge of everything (did I also mention no paperwork was involved? Unprofessional to the very end.) and he immediately gave me a number and hung up. I called the third party and found out I can’t even cancel with them bc I paid a full year. According to them, they have no clue why the manager, Mark, even referred me to them because such cancellation process (my case) has to be done with him and the branch I signed up for. I have been trying to contact Mark, which was to no avail, who has not picked up any calls since he gave me the other number. Totally unprofessional and poor location. I cannot emphasize this anymore, just look elsewhere!

Poor customer service. They also have a scammer-behavior. I was charged extra on my card and the owner refuse to give me my money back. I even tried cancelling, it’s just a beat around the bush. Best bet finding a next gym, with better customer service and people that actually work there to monitor and keep everything sanitized. Worst gym experience ever. 0 Stars!

ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT! The gym is ok, but the billing company that they choose to associate themselves with, Paramount Acceptance, is going to ALWAYS be a dark stain on this company. It is not only a headache to try and cancel, but a maze full of lies about how much you even owe just to cancel. Don't do it to yourself. The gym may be decent, but if you decide to move on from them, expect them to not let go of your taking your money without a fight.
