I joined Nexus about 2 1/2 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I have made from my time in Birmingham! I had never been in a gym setting before coming, so I was incredibly intimidated when I started. The coaches were so welcoming and helped talk me through each workout and what would work best for me. I love Nexus because while there is a general workout posted for everyone each day, the coaches will work with you to personalize it to what works best for your body and capability. It’s not a one size fits all, which was great for a girl who could hardly bench the bar when I first started!

I have been a member of Nexus for almost four years and at this point I can safely say that it’s the best fitness experience I’ve ever had. The coaching, programming and facilities are top notch and the community that you get is incredible. You won’t find a better place to get in shape and have a blast while doing it than Nexus!

As a mom in my late 30s, I was intimidated by the idea of CrossFit but also knew the importance of lifting weights, especially as we age. Some friends convinced me to try Nexus and I was immediately put at-ease by the welcoming members and knowledgeable coaches. Every exercise was explained in a way that made sense and I was able to catch on relatively quickly. Lifting weights has been (dare I say…!) fun and I find myself looking forward to going to the gym. I can’t recommend Nexus enough!

I drop in occasionally when traveling for work. Having been to a handful of different gyms over the years, I can say that this place is fantastic! Great community, great coaches, and the workouts are always solid...all in a really nice venue with good equipment. Thanks Nexus for keeping me fit while traveling!

I love Nexus Fitness!! The coaches are always encouraging and helpful, the workouts are always challenging, and the people are always friendly. Seriously. I work out on the CrossFit side and my wife does X4; we're both hooke d. There's an incredible sense of accomplishment that comes from completing a workout - it's been a huge boost to my mental health, not to mention my physical health. If you believe that you are capable of becoming stronger, faster, and fitter, come check this place out!

Top tier programming along with a top tier space! Supportive, family driven culture with individualized attention by coaches. You feel, and know they have your best interest and longevity in mind. Would recommend to anyone moving to the Birmingham area as a home gym or anyone just stopping by!

The BEST gym and community!! I joined in September, a few months after my son was born and never having done CrossFit. Being new to CrossFit, I have felt so welcomed and supported. The programming is the perfect mix of challenging while also being something a “normal” human can complete. The coaches are attentive and always you pushing you to give your all. So grateful for Nexus and all I’ve learned these last few months!
