Today I have had a great result with a very helpful lady named Sybil in the Probate Dept. We have been trying to get some legal work done for months. It took less than fifteen minutes for her to help us and for us to get it done. She is wonderful. I wish we had talked to her months ago. Thank you so much for your help and kindness.

I had a genuinely terrible experience with two staff members when calling the Jefferson County Redemption Department to pay my tax bill. Both young ladies I dealt with were awful communicators and acted as if speaking with me was a burden.

When I called and spoke with the first woman, seeking help to pay online, she was immediately rude and dismissive. She made no effort to actually assist me and seemed aggravated that she had to speak with me at all. Her unwillingness to provide any real guidance showed a blatant disregard for customer service.

Frustrated with her non-responsiveness, I asked to speak to a supervisor to voice my concerns. Shockingly, the woman hung up on me instead of transferring my call. I could not believe how utterly dismissive she was.

I called back again only to deal with a second woman who exhibited similarly poor communication abilities and attitude. She too acted inconvenienced and did not even attempt to resolve my questions about their clearly outdated systems in 2023.

Dealing with two unhelpful employees who were confrontational for no reason amounted to an exceptionally negative experience. It reflected quite poorly on the competency and professionalism within the Redemption Department overall. I sincerely hope they train their staff on basic customer service and upgrade technologically outdated systems. This was truly unacceptable.

I typically never write reviews but felt compelled to share my experience to prevent others from enduring such hostility when paying county taxes. The county administration needs to address these problems immediately.

I know no one ever has anything good to say about going to the courthouse, but I will.

I was at a loss on how to renew by State and Jeff Co business licenses, plus my business Personal Property Tax, so I called, and the lady I spoke to was the nicest and most helpful. She looked up my account, explain to me how I need to fill out the form and suggested for ease, just to come down there and they would handle everything. So I did, and they did.

From the minute I walked in the door, everyone was so helpful. The security guards zipped me right through and even voiced concern over the motorcycle that nearly ran me over crossing the street.

When I looked lost, another security guard asked me what I was looking for and directed me to the correct room.

The ladies in the business license area were friendly and efficient and then directed me to the next place I needed to be.

The employees in the Tax Accessors office were equally friendly and efficient. They told me which taxes had been paid, which were still outstanding, and when I told them I was going to pay the outstanding online, they reminded me to choose ECheck as the payment option since it would be FREE!

And to top it all off, because I was in and out in 30 minutes, my parking was FREE!

This crooked courthouse allowed a woman to make multiple false reports about me resulting to warrants for my arrest! She has threatened me, attacked me and stolen from me. She harasses me by posting on social media. When my court date came the district attorney was very biased, unprofessional towards me and allowed the woman to slander me loudly in the courtroom to where everyone could hear the lies this woman had to say about me. The district attorney worker decided that if I plead guilty to 2 charges they would drop 3. I regret pleading guilty. I wasn’t guilty. That woman’s family still contacts me and her son took it upon himself to somehow marry me without my consent/knowledge while I was locked up. I have been trying to get ahold of my court appointed lawyer for months and he never returns my calls, I call to get ahold of the judge for months now about the fact that the woman has tried to contact me by making posts on Facebook when the judge told us we all were not supposed to be in contact. No one wants to talk to me! I want the charges I plead guilty to dropped immediately. They were made under a police report that had lies on it. I should have never had to even plead guilty to anything. I didn’t do anything to the woman and her son wanted the charges dropped. Jefferson county is crooked. I will be going to the news about my charges. Yall failed me in so many ways and ruined my life. For a woman who lies, steals stuff (she has charges for it in Blount county) and does drugs (I have messages from her asking me to get her son to bring her weed and I know where she buys her pills and where she gets her cans of “whippits”)and she clearly doesn’t want to leave me alone. She’s the one harassing me!

I want my marriage to this man annulled. Yall can pay for or deal with that.

I want the money I spent to get my car out of an impound out and the bail money I had to give up and the payments for a domestic violence class I didn’t even commit and have witnesses willing to testify on my behalf to prove that. I want to deal with someone from the fbi to get a new identity and to move on with my life because I do not trust Jefferson county at all. Like yall put me in jail where one of my accusers works? And I was threatened by guards while locked up and they knew why I was there because the accuser told her coworkers about me and lied about her relationship to the other people accusing me of crimes that I didn’t commit!

If yall do not attempt to make things right for me by dismissing my charges then yall are harassing me as well and I will go to Montgomery as well as the news.

I have witnesses! I have my proof! Yall will not shut me up!

My widowed sister went to the probate office with paperwork that was requested and encountered a clerk who was most unhelpful. When my sister asked for information regarding the transaction, the clerk just stated,"I can't tell you". Not helpful in the least. My sister left in frustration after several of these replies to her questions.

Horrible!!! Been trying for months to get a resolution to my issue. What business has their system down for months? This is the most bootleg, unprofessional mess I've ever seen. It's truly unacceptable and they need to be held accountable
