I had an appointment today with my tax professional. She greeted me immediately and took her time to show me the many different ways I could file my 2018 taxes to maximize my refund. She explained all of the new laws, taking time to make sure I understood what she was entering into the computer. I chose to E-file, and the IRS has already acknowledged my filing by text; and another text said the IRS is working on my Refund. I was offered coffee, water and was made quite comfortable! I highly recommend H & R Block, especially because they offer Peace Of Mind, which means if I am contacted by IRS, they will represent me in handling whatever the issue is.

I normally have someone in NY do my taxes but I thought I would try it local this time around. I thought it would be easier. After sitting with my "Tax Professional" for 3.5 hours and watch her struggle to use the software, I lost confidence and ask her to file an extension for me, she had to consult with someone to figure out how to submit the extension. I paid for the extension and then submitted my information to my regular tax professional in New York.
Two weeks later I receive a bill from the IRS for filing my taxes late, my extension was NEVER filed. The office acknowledged that she didn't file the extension but charged me for it and submitted a refund to me via email. When I click on the link to access the refund there is an error. I have been trying to resolve this issue since April, there have been two cases opened but no one has called me back. I have called several times and have told this story at least 5 times to 5 different people.

I enjoyed Ms. Carolyn. She was nice and quick. I am glad that I did not have to stay five hours when I had someone else to file my taxes for me. I waited an hour to be told after 30 min of plugging information in that I should use Turbo Tax. I came in because I haven’t filed in three years and am confused on what to do for all the things that happened during 2020 (unemployment, doordash, etc.) I had to rush here and move things around literally for nothing. Never coming back.

Efficient, patient, skillful and a generally nice person. She offered valuable tax advice last year, but there was not much to offer this year, thus the 3. I miss Anne Bendit because of our long relationship, but I am very much pleased with Jan Brewer.

For the second consecutive year Ms. Jan Brewer solved in minutes issues wife and I had no idea how to address, She got us a legitimate refund far more than we expected, and we plan to have Ms. Brewer prepare our tax returns for the foreseeable future. Ms. Brewer has an amazing combination of people skills and knowledge of tax preparation. We plan to be regulars at H & R Block at least as long as we can work with Ms. Brewer.
